Greenside Animal Hospital is the prominent veterinary practice on the corner of Barry Hertzog Avenue and Muirfield Road in Greenside, Johannesburg. Our practice with the two big dogs in front of the building is hard to miss! We welcome ALL pets and encourage you to bring each of your pets for a check-up once a year. If we do not have the expertise in house to attend to any special species or breed of animal you may have, we will refer you to the best specialists in that particular area of animal care.
Greenside Animal Hospital was established in 1943 making us one of the oldest private veterinary clinics in South Africa. We are very proud of our tradition of excellent quality veterinary care. As our previous facility no longer met the requirements of 21st-century veterinary care, it was incumbent for us to do renovations and we moved into our brand new facility towards the end of 2016.
On one hand, we were sad to say goodbye to the old veterinary practice building because there were so many wonderful memories of ‘Sharing the Care’ tied up in that old building. On the other hand, we were excited about the prospect of continuing to share the care way into the future, in a facility that meets the needs of modern veterinary medicine and surgery. Today we provide care from a world-class facility here in Johannesburg, which can hold its own with the best veterinary practices in the world.
We stock a wide range of veterinary products and pet food, and render from basic veterinary services like vaccinations and preventative medicine to advanced services like diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests and surgery. We also provide ancillary veterinary services like grooming, puppy training and short-term boarding for cats.
