Vaccination promotion

The recent outbreak of distemper in Gauteng which seems to have spread from KwaZulu Natal is all over the news

Distemper is a severe viral disease that is highly contagious and for which there is no treatment other than supportive treatment for animals that have been infected. The mortality rate for this disease is very high and 50 % of cases die.

This virus is transmitted through direct or indirect contact with infected animals, and may even be transmitted via the air.

The only known way to prevent distemper is to have your dogs vaccinated on a yearly basis. Vaccinations are preventative, and if your dog’s vaccinations are not up to date and he or she gets distemper, the results will be devastating as there is no cure.

It is vital for us to assist the community in making sure our neighbourhood is distemper free. Therefore we are giving 35% off on all vaccinations from 5 February 2019 to 28 February 2019. Please remember booking is essential as we have a limited number of consultations available.

If you have any questions on distemper, please visit our website and read our article or feel free to give us a call on 011 646 4210 to make an appointment.
