Dr Joubert Viljoen
Owner
Dr. Viljoen bought the practice in 1995, but no longer works as a vet because of a motor vehicle accident he was in, in 2002. He is, however, still passionately involved in the management of the practice and in the veterinary industry as a whole. At home, Dr. Viljoen is married with five kids and has a Pomeranian named Sirkus and a Yorkshire Terrier called Victor (who has a tendency to run away from home!).
Dr Suzette Greubel
Co-Owner/Senior Veterinarian
Dr. Suzette Greubel is the co-owner and senior veterinarian at Greenside Animal Hospital. She started as a locum vet at our animal hospital in 2002 and has been here permanently since June 2003. Dr. Greubel is married with 2 two children, and also owns 2 two German Shorthaired Pointers and a cat.
Dr Simoné Steyn
Veterinarian
Dr. Simoné Steyn joined Greenside Animal Hospital in January 2017. Dr. Simoné is married and have has four furry kids at home named Pablo, Mot, Milly and Ollie. She loves running and spending time in her garden.
Dr Jean Gouws
Veterinarian
Dr Jean Gouws joined the team in 2018. He has an interest in orthopedicorthopaedic surgery and loves to analyse the weird cases. He has multiple pets including chickens and hamsters. He is the prankster in the office.
Dr Abby Brown
Veterinarian
Dr Abby Brown joined the Greenside team in 2020. She loves working with people and animals and always has a smile on her face.
Dr Vince Botha
Locum Veterinarian
Dr Sara Boyd graduated from Onderstepoort Veterinary Faculty with her Masters in Small Animal Surgery in 2004. Since then, Dr Boyd has been a surgeon and partner for 20 years in one of Johannesburg’s specialist facilities. She has been a senior lecturer at Onderstpoort and has done professional development talks extensively both locally and abroad on various surgical subjects. Her special interests lie in the field of soft tissue and neurosurgery.
Sr Irene Mudzingwa

Irene started working at Greenside Animal Hospital in October 2017. She started working inIrene entered the veterinary industry back in 1994 as a vet assistant and qualified as a vet nurse in 2007. She is blessed with one child, a girl. Irene loves animals very much. In her free time, she enjoys playing Netball and reading.

Allison Gilbert is one of our weekend reception staff members. You will see her here every second Saturday. She is busy with her PhD, working with forensically related flies. She has a whole family of animals at home, too many to mention here!

Bernice joined the team in January 2019. She has a bubbly personality and is always willing to help. Bernice loves cats even though her husband is allergic.

Nicole joined the team in November 2021. She is passionate about dog behaviour and is a collector of dog products. She has a Doberman called Ivy and a Dachshund called Lillo.
